Summary:
The Community Essentials Committee (CEC) seeks renewal for Q3 2024 and Q1 2025. The CEC has focused on growing and engaging the Across DAO community through initiatives such as onboarding, events, social media campaigns, and partnership integrations. Building on the foundation established in the previous quarters, the CEC aims to make significant strides in expanding the Across DAO’s community presence and engagement.
Motivation:
The CEC achieved all the planned goals in 2024, further reinforcing the value of a dedicated committee that focused on community-building efforts. By continuing its operations, the CEC can capitalize on the momentum gained and drive even greater growth and engagement within the Across DAO community.
CEC Member Changes:
The RealTuna and MyDefi are stepping down as CEC members.
Achievements in Q2-Q3 2024
Wonderverse, the gamified onboarding system has been implemented. The quests and gamified experience have enhanced the onboarding experience for all community members.

Discord and Twitter Events:
The CEC organized engaging community events, including Discord parties, interactive games and activities such as Gartic, Decorations, Poker, Quizzes, Crosswords, Wordsearches, Football contests, Random games, creativity challenges, fantasy football and Airdrops.
Massive participation at the Euro 2024 and Paris Olympics events. Twitter meme competition held on the Across Intern account that brought about decent engagement both on twitter and in the discord
The competition was highly successful, and although the Across Intern account is currently suspended, we’re shifting our focus to the ‘reply-guy’ strategy. We’ll be amplifying content more consistently from our individual accounts to maintain and grow community engagement.

Acre x Across Partnership: Acre, Mezo and Avalon Labs created BTC powered DeFi, and looking to expand to EVM soon. Across will be ready to tap into a new pool of DeFi users.
Acre x Across Poker Tournament: Huge community event, with 144 players in the tournament. Good social media coverage from both projects and an important boost in Discord members and X followers as a direct result.

Goals for Q4 2024 & Q1 2025
Enhance Discord activity and engagement through new and innovative events, contests, and gamification initiatives.
CEC led community call held bi-monthly. It will be partly educational and partly entertainment.
Collaborating with the team to drive growth for the Across X account (as the intern account is currently inactive). We’re expanding our social media reach through the reply-guy strategy while implementing targeted marketing campaigns focused on community growth.
Focusing on showcasing the more fun and relatable aspects of the Across community and ecosystem.
The CEC aims to promote Across twitter and the power of community by actively engaging with followers, sharing user-generated content, and fostering a sense of connection and belonging among its audience.

P0x writing competition - TBD
Enhance Wonderverse and explore new avenues for community education and onboarding, fostering a more informed and engaged user base.
The CEC will produce video content for social media platforms, with the video editor focusing on creating short, informative videos. These will include witty highlights from bi-weekly calls and other Across-related content, all aimed at increasing engagement and drawing more attention to our official pages.
Integrate Realms a voting and quiz Discord bot. Initially, this will be used to set quizzes and fun votes. We will then experiment with it and allow invited community members to vote on UMA disputes. Realms is a consensus and reputation system
Support the Across team in reaching their objectives while serving as a bridge between the community and the team, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.

Specification & Implementation:
Upon approval, the CEC’s budget will be transferred from the DAO to the committee’s Ethereum safe (to a new wallet under Across DAO management and Llamapay.io streams to be set-up by Benni) The committee will self-manage the events budget.
The performance bonus of $10,000 USD worth of ACX tokens for Q3 2024 is outstanding.
Additionally, a performance bonus of $10,000 USD worth of ACX tokens will be transferred at the end of Q4 2024, as outlined in the Across DAO governance operating manual.
Another similar performance bonus of $10,000 USD worth of ACX tokens will be transferred at the end of Q1 2025, as outlined in the Across DAO governance operating manual.
Compensation:
To mitigate the risks associated with volatile token prices, the CEC recommends utilizing a 90-day average (0.344190833) derived from Coingecko’s closing prices to determine the budget’s rate. This average will be calculated on the date the snapshot vote is posted, ensuring fair compensation for the committee members.
Unspent Budget from last quarter:
The CEC has an unspent budget from previous quarters of ~35k ACX, of which a portion will be used for the PB0x contest, the details of which are still being finalized.
